Master weavers Namesio & Florencia are teaching traditional weaving techniques and Zapotec language to kids. Namesio & Florencia weave in tandem on a traditional hand built foot pedal loom. Together they have made some of our largest rugs!

For many years Namesio has dreamed of teaching the children in Santa Ana del Valle Zapotec and traditional Zapotec weaving. Without support this dream can’t come true. Teaching takes time and that time could be used to work crops, weave rugs for sale, and carry out village duties.
